WorldSkills UK National Finals

EngEPA was proud to sponsor both the Welding and Fabrication competitions at the WorldSkills UK National Finals. The event, held on November 16-17, showcased the skills and talent of the UK's top young engineers.

EngEPA Director Simon Davies was honoured to present Welding & Fabrication competition Gold Medal award winners Harry Pullen and Thomas Sadler with their medals. Simon noted that it was a privilege to share the stage with radio and TV presenter Edith Bowman. He fondly remembers listening to her on the radio 20 years ago, at the time he was just beginning his apprenticeship journey. Little did he know that the apprenticeship he was on would provide the foundation for where he is today.

"It was an inspiring evening to see the passion and dedication of these young engineers," said Simon. "We are proud to support them and their journey to becoming the next generation of engineering leaders. Apprenticeships are a vital part of the UK's engineering workforce, and they provide young people with the opportunity to learn the skills they need to succeed in this challenging and rewarding industry."
